Starting my blog of music, I should start with a rock solid peace of work. I'm of course talking of the perfect album by The Clash, "London Calling", from 1979. Some claims it's from 1980, but it was first released in 1979.
This was originally a double vinyl punk album, but it became so much more. It feature all sorts of genres, from genius rock'n'roll/rockabilly ("Brand New Cadillac"), great reggae ("Revolution Rock") to one of the coolest bass guitar riffs of all time ("The Guns Of Brixton"), and also a song I interprets as being about the feeling of being lost in all the new things around you ("Lost In The Supermarket"), which I certainly can relate to. Most people have heard at least either the title track or "Train In Vain" (which was called this instead of "Stand By Me" to not be confused by Ben E. King's "Stand By Me").
For me, this was an album I had to listen through some times over a longer period of time to REALLY enjoy, but once I got past that phase, it's possibly my favorite album of all time. It's at least in the category over the best albums I can think of.
Favorite songs:

Rating:
5 out of 5, even if it may not sounds like it on the first listen, it does become a 5 out of 5 album
